CHRONOLOGY

1966-68           
Attends The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa; Studies painting with
Stuart Edie; Has a two year Graduate Assistantship; MA Painting 1968. Images are brain forms.  Meets Steve Fox, neurophysiologist, introduces me to brain forms. 

1967           
Studies with Hans Breder.  Images are Plexiglas constructions using Cloud images. Exhibits in first Graduate student exhibit in a professional gallery as a part of “Seven Young Talents from Iowa” at the Richard Feigen Gallery in Chicago, Illinois.  Other artists include, Bruce Kurtz, William Beckman, William Richards, Doug Prince, David McGovern, and Hugh Yorty.

1968           
Receives first degree in the nation in Intermedia.  MFA, Intermedia 1968.  Summer Visiting Artist in Residence at S.U.N.Y., Buffalo for Dwayne Hatchett.  Meets Jack Smith, Martin Kearns and Emmanuel Many Deeds.

1968-70           
Moves to Mt. Vernon, Iowa to teach at Cornell College; Continues Plexiglasconstructions, first brain forms and then cloud forms
Exhibits in a group exhibition at the Cedar Rapids Art Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Peter Stamats buys cloud box. Meets collectors Mark Richard and Lucy Feller and through them a number of other collectors, including Alan Patricof and Paul Schupf.

1969         
Exhibits Cloud Constructions at the Wustum Art Museum, Racine, Wisconsin, a one person show.  Reviewed in the Racine Journal-Times,
“Young Artist Utilizes Space”, Karen B. Tancill, July 17, 1969. 

1970           
Exhibits Cloud Constructions at the Cedar Rapids Art Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a one person show.  Exhibits in a three person exhibition with Suzanne Kohn Gallery, St. Paul, Minnesota.
